If there is such a thing as the Hall of Honor's "First Family," it might be the Cascos of Lahainaluna High School.

Kawika Casco was inducted in 2000, and was followed by brother Kainoa two years later.

Tonight, Lake Casco will join Kawika and Kainoa in becoming the first three siblings to be inducted into the prestigious Hall.

And the last certainly is not the least in this case.

Lake is an All-State football player, two-time state champion in wrestling, state track and field qualifier and a 3.94 GPA honor student who is headed to the Ivy League.

In football, he was a two-way starter at receiver/running back/defensive back for three years, earning Maui Interscholastic League all-star first team honors for three straight years. This past season, he was an Advertiser All-State first team pick, and was the MIL Defensive Player of the Year, helping the Lunas advance to the Division II state championship game.

In wrestling, Lake was the MIL champ at 145 pounds as a sophomore and won league and state titles as a junior (152) and senior (160), when he was named MIL Wrestler of the Year.

In track and field, Lake qualified for the state championship meet in the 300 hurdles and 4x100 relay as a junior.

Athletics are only part of Lake's all-around excellence.

His 3.94 GPA includes AP classes in world history, calculus, government and biology, and honors classes in Hawaiian history, English, chemistry, U.S. history and physics.

Lake will continue his education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he plans to play football and major in chemical or materials engineering.
