Athletes gearing up for 43rd annual state Summer Games at UH, Central Oahu park

More than 1,000 Special Olympics Hawai'i athletes are competing in powerlifting, softball, track and field, and swimming events this weekend in the 43rd annual Special Olympics State Summer Games at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa and Central O'ahu Regional Park.
Athletes began training in February and this spring competed in area and regional competitions for the state Summer Games, which have been held continuously since 1968.
