OKLAHOMA CITY — Washington pitcher Danielle Lawrie is among three finalists chosen for college softball's national player of the year award as she tries to claim the honor for the second straight time.

The Amateur Softball Association of America and USA Softball announced Wednesday that Lawrie, UCLA's Megan Langenfeld or Georgia Tech infielder Jen Yee will be named the winner Tuesday at the opening ceremonies for the Women's College World Series.

Lawrie has gone 38-1 with a 0.94 ERA and 446 strikeouts this season as she tries to join former Texas ace Cat Osterman as the only repeat winners of the award.

Yee leads the nation with a .568 batting average and is tied for the NCAA lead with 29 home runs with Hawai'i's Kelly Majam.

Langenfeld is hitting .500 with 16 home runs while also going 10-1 with a 1.29 ERA.
