Lingle holding civil union meetings today, tomorrow
Gov. Linda Lingle plans to meet with people on one side of the civil union debate today and with those on the other side tomorrow.
The meetings at Lingle's office in the state Capitol aren't open to the media or the general public.
Lingle has said "it's up in the air" whether she will veto or allow same-sex civil unions to become law.
She's vowed to meet face-to-face with community leaders, weigh the recommendations of her policy advisers and review thousands of e-mails before making up her mind.
The Republican governor has until July 6 to decide whether to sign, veto or let the bill become law without her signature.
