St. Andrew's Priory senior Maya Fegan is the Hawai'i winner of the National Association of Secondary School Principals Herff Jones Principal's Leadership Award.

She was one of 99 winners chosen from a nationwide field of 3,000 and will receive a $1,000 award. She is president of her senior class, a National Merit Scholar and a member of the National Spanish Honor Society.

The Campbell Local Emergency Action Network is sponsoring a free emergency preparedness seminar for Kapolei businesses and schools from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 16 at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa at Ko Olina.

The seminar will provide tips to help organizations identify their vulnerabilities and develop or enhance their emergency response plans to prevent or reduce the negative effects from a natural disaster or industrial incident.

VOLUNTEER GUIDES SOUGHT TO TEACH ABOUT HANAUMA BAY

On Saturday mornings beginning at the end of May and continuing through June, the Hanauma Bay Education Program will hold training sessions for interpretive guide volunteers.

The sessions will be at the city's Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve and will cover the history of Hanauma Bay and the education program, the bay's geology and reef ecology, and Hawaiian culture.
