Motion seeks to bar 'furlough' protesters from Lingle's office

HONOLULU — A judge has been asked to bar four adults who were arrested last month during a sit-in at Gov. Linda Lingle's office from entering that office as a condition of bail.
Deputy City Prosecutor Chastity Imamura on Tuesday made the motion to bar the four before District Judge Colette Garibaldi.
Attorney Eric Seitz, who is representing the one parent and three other adults arrested during the sit-in, will argue against the motion on Wednesday when the four are to be arraigned.
It could not be immediately determined if Lingle or her aides requested the motion.
The four who were arrested on trespassing charges were Marguerite Higa, a spokeswoman for the parents group Save Our Schools; Michael Doyle; Carrie Lau; and Teresa Kessenich-Chase.
