Hawai'i improved its score, but so did every other team in yesterday's second round of the Club Glove Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship at Henderson, Nev. The Warriors remained last in the nine-team field, with a score of 298—600.

New Mexico State moved into first by playing Rio Secco Golf Club in 14-under-par 274 yesterday. With a two-day total of 557, the Aggies are four ahead of Nevada (280—561) and eight up on San Jose State (278—565).

Sophomore TJ Kua continues to lead UH, shooting his second straight 69 to move up to fourth place. NMSU's Tim Madigan, who shot a course-record 64 Monday, followed with a 4-under 68 and leads the individual competition by four shots over Nevada's Scott Smith (69—136). Wolf Pack teammate Ryan Hallisey (65—137) is third, moving up 10 spots with the day's best round.

Freshman Cory Oride (76—151) is next for UH and tied for 33rd overall. Jared Sawada (78—153) is 40th, Kamden Brakel (75—161) 44th and Pono Calip (79—162) 45th.

HPU, BYUH HOST REGIONALS TOMORROW

Hawai'i Pacific and Brigham Young-Hawai'i will host women's and men's NCAA Regional Championships tomorrow at the Patsy T. Mink CORP Tennis Complex and in Lā'ie.

The Sea Warrior men play Sonoma State at 10 a.m., with the women taking on UC San Diego at 1:30 p.m. at CORP.

In Lā'ie, the 29th-ranked Seasider men (18-3) host UC San Diego at 9:30 a.m. and the third-ranked Seasider women (28-0) host Cal State-Stanislaus at 2 p.m.

All the teams are seeking a berth in the 16-team NCAA National Championships, May 12 to 15, in Florida.
