Visit 'Alika Rabbit Garden' for the first time
| |||
The "Alika Rabbit Garden," offering kids an educational adventure based on Beatrix Potter's "The Tale of Peter Rabbit," opens 9 to noon Saturday at the University of Hawai'i's Urban Garden Center in Pearl City.
The story, adapted to a Hawai'i setting, places the interactive action in "Uncle Kimo's" garden, featuring everyday and unusual vegetables.
The opening event is part of the center's "Second Saturday at the Garden" event, which also includes garden tours, hands-on crafts, learning activities, entertainment, a live rabbit display, seed packet giveaways for children and a "mini" plant sale; it's free.
