The inaugural Galaxy MMA mixed martial arts card came to an uneventful conclusion tonight with the main event ending in a no-contest.

The bout was stopped 27 seconds into the first round after Brazil's Fabiano Scherner landed an unintentional low blow to Kailua's Scott Junk.

After staying on the ground for several minutes, Junk informed the doctors that he could not continue.

In an action-packed co-main event, Keola Silva of Waialua scored a majority decision over Tyson Nam of Wahiawa in a 135-pound bout.

The three-round bout featured a contrast in styles, with Silva winning the wrestling aspect and Nam scoring with strikes. Nam dropped Silva in the second round, but Silva scored takedowns in each round.

In other professional bouts on the card: Eldon "Sale" Sproat of Moloka'i made a spectacular debut with a first-round TKO victory over R.J. Richter of Las Vegas; Preston "Bruski" Louis of Kalihi defeated Brennan Kamaka of Wai'aane with an armbar submission in the first round.

The quarterfinals of a lightweight (155 pounds) tournament were also completed tonight.

Kristopher Kyle of Waipahu won the first quarterfinal when he defeated Jenzen Espanto via rear-naked choke in the first round.

Steve Gable of San Diego, Calif., won the second quarterfinal with an impressive victory over Kalihi's Clay Lewis Jr. Gable opened a cut on Lewis' head early in the first round, then finisihed it moments later with a rear-naked choke.

Harris Sarmiento of Waipahu defeated Chris Yee of Oregon via unanimous decision in the third quarterfinal.

Jose Salgado of Las Vegas was awarded a walkover victory in the other quarterfinal because his opponent failed to make the 155-pound limit.

The semifinals will be completed at the next Galaxy MMA event, which is scheduled for August.

There were also three amateur bouts on the card. Zack Pang defeated Kimo Sanders with a rear-naked choke in the first round; Evan Lowther defeated Markus Kindblad with a knockout kick, 18 seconds into the first round; Ryan Clay earned a unanimous decision over Chris Templo.
