Gas prices steady throughout state

Hawai'i's average price for a gallon of regular gasoline rose by one cent from last week to $3.48, AAA Hawaii's Weekend Gas Watch reported yesterday
The average price in Honolulu was $3.37, unchanged from last week, four cents more than last month and $1.02 more than last year.
In Hilo, the average was $3.47, unchanged from last week, 3 cents less than last month and $1 more than last year.
In Wailuku, the average was $3.85, 1 cent more than last week, a nickel more than last month and $1.24 more than last year.
BOFH PLEDGES $120K TO UH RESEARCH
Bank of Hawaii has pledged $120,000 over the next three years to sponsor the University of Hawai'i Economic Research Organization.
"Private support such as this new investment from Bank of Hawaii is key to UHERO's ability to fulfill their mission of informing public and private-sector economic decision-making through quantitative and analytical research with a particular focus on the economies of Hawai'i and the Asia Pacific region," Bank of Hawaii said in a news release.
The pledge also provides support for UHERO's Hawai'i Data Portal, a free online resource that provides access to the most up-to-date information on a wide array of economic and social indicators for the state and county economies.
HILTON GRAND WAIKIKIAN WINS HONOR
The American Resort Development Association awarded the Hilton Grand Waikikian its Circle of Excellence Project of Excellence Award.
The award recognizes timeshare and mixed-use projects that are considered a success by the developer, unit owners and the local community.
The award was presented March 17 at the ARDA's 2010 Convention & Exposition in Las Vegas.
The 331-unit Grand Waikikian opened in December 2008, becoming the fifth Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare project developed in Hawai'i.
