Hawaii unemployment was unchanged at 6.9 percent in February

Hawaiçi’s unemployment rate was unchanged in February with 6.9 percent of the state’s population going without work.
Data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows there were 43,600 unemployed people in the state during February.
The state’s jobless rate continued at a level that’s well below the national average of 9.7 percent.
The nation’s highest unemployment continued to be found in Michigan, where manufacturing layoffs have contributed to a 14.1 percent rate.
The lowest percentage of jobless people among the workforce was found in North Dakota, where there was a 4.1 percent rate.
