CBKB: Wisconsin Stevens-Point wins 3rd D-III title

SALEM, Va. — Jared Jenkins scored 12 of his 17 points in the final 11 minutes and Matt Moses scored 22 to lead Wisconsin-Stevens Point to the Division III title with a come-from-behind 78-73 win over Williams College in Saturday.
The Pointers (29-4) trailed by 10 points with 11 minutes to play before going on a 22-5 that put them in position to claim their third national championship in seven years.
Jenkins capped the run with a 3-pointer and a three-point play by Jenkins. The latter came with 5:02 and put the Pointers up 66-59. Jenkins scored nine points in the run and teammate Dan Tillema had eight of his 15 points during it.
Williams (30-2), which had won its last 21 games, made it 69-67, on a three-point play by James Wang with 1:15 remaining and trailed by three points, 76-73, following a 3-pointer by Kyle Schultz with eight seconds left.
Moses broke free for a driving layup with 3 seconds left to give Stevens Point another title to go with its back-to-back wins in 2004 and 2005.
Jenkins hit 6 of 9 from the floor and all three of his 3-point attempts. Moses hit 8 of 15 and made all six of his free-throw attempts.
Schultz led Williams with 20 points and six rebounds. Troy Whittington added 19 points and 11 rebounds.
