Ron Boyer to be acting chief of state DCCA, Lingle says
Ron Boyer has been tapped to serve as acting director of the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Gov. Linda Lingle announced yesterday. The governor also named Rod Maile as the department's deputy director.
Boyer is replacing Larry Reifurth, who will be sworn in today as an associate judge on the Intermediate Court of Appeals. Lingle in a news release said Boyer will serve as acting director until an interim director is named or until May 10, whichever occurs first.
Boyer has served as a policy analyst in the governor's office and also as a senior adviser for former Honolulu Councilmembers John Henry Felix and Mike Gabbard.
Maile has been with DCCA for nearly 30 years and currently serves as a senior hearings officer in the Office of Administrative Hearings.
