HONOLULU — Gov. Linda Lingle is releasing $7.6 million to the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to finance improvements at two state hospitals.
Almost all of the money will finance construction of and equipment for a new dialysis unit at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Construction is slated to begin in October and be completed by mid-2011.
The remaining $410,000 will pay for the design and construction of a new roof on the main building of the Maluhia Hospital, a long-term care and skilled nursing center on Oahu. The project will begin this month and finish by February, 2011.
