PARIS — Nenad Zimonjic picked up a second Grand Slam title in the space of three days on Saturday after the Serb teamed with Daniel Nestor of Canada to win the men's doubles at the French Open.
The pair beat defending champions Leander Paes of India and Lukas Dlouhy of the Czech Republic 7-5, 6-2.
Zimonjic, who turned 34th Friday, won the mixed doubles Thursday with Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia.
"There's no better way to celebrate something than with a title like this," Zimonjic said. "Two years ago I was in both finals, but ended up losing both. That was very disappointing."
Nestor and Zimonjic enjoyed a stroll with their children on center court after receiving the trophy. Nestor has a 17-month-old daughter, Tiana Alexis, while Zimonjic has two 18-month-old twins, Leon and Luna.
"It was nice to have them on the court," Nestor said. "They probably won't remember it."
Nestor and Zimonjic, seeded No. 2, won their third Grand Slam title together, after successful runs at Wimbledon in 2008 and 2009.
"We're doing terrific," Zimonjic said, "even though we have some tough conversations, some tough times."
"If we have a disagreement, we let it out," Nestor said. "You know, we do that probably three, four times a week."
Nestor collected three Grand Slam doubles titles with Mark Knowles, before teaming up with Zimonjic on a regular basis at the end of 2007.
In the final, Nestor and Zimonjic converted three of four break-point chances and never lost serve, making 75 percent of their first serves.
Paes and Dlouhy were bidding for a third Grand Slam title together, after winning the French Open and the U.S. Open last year.
"Hopefully next year we can get the trophy back," Dlouhy said.
