A 44-year-old homeless woman told police last night that she was sexually assaulted May 31 in Kapolei by a 39-year-old man who is also homeless.

The woman told police she had gone to sleep for the night when she was awakened by the man, whom she described as an acquaintance, pulling her clothes off and engaging in unwanted sex with her.

Police classified the incident as first-degree sexual assault, but had not located the suspect as of this morning.
