Visiting Radford stuns Mililani, 44-43

Advertiser Staff

MILILANI —T.J. Reid was fouled on a half-court shot attempt as time expired and sank all three free throws last night to lift Radford past Mililani, 44-43, in O'ahu Interscholastic Association boys basketball action.

The Rams improved to 7-3 in the OIA's Red Conference Western Division; the Trojans, ranked No. 6 in The Advertiser's statewide Top 10 poll of coaches and media, fell to 8-1.

Radford closed it to 43-41 on a free throw with 4.8 ticks remaining, and the Trojans missed two free throws with 4.1 seconds on the clock.

Reid grabbed the rebound and pushed the ball up the floor, but a Mililani player reached in to strip his shot attempt and was whistled for the foul as the horn sounded.

Reid swished his first two free-throw attempts, then sank the third after a Trojans timeout.

J.B. Fontenot led Radford with 13 points.

Mililani's Robbie Griffin scored 13 points.
