Connecticut keeps rolling up victories and records.

UConn is No. 1 in The Associated Press women's basketball poll for the 36th straight week, matching Louisiana Tech (1980-82) for the longest run atop the Top 25. The Huskies again were the unanimous choice as the top team, receiving 40 first-place votes from a national media panel yesterday.

The Huskies won their 58th straight game Saturday, routing Villanova. UConn (19-0) hosts Rutgers on Tuesday before traveling to Pittsburgh on Saturday. Connecticut has the second longest streak in women's basketball history and only trails the NCAA- and school-record 70 straight victories it set from 2001-03.

Stanford remained No. 2 while Notre Dame moved back up to third. Ohio State and Tennessee rounded out the first five.

Purdue 63, No. 4 Ohio State 61: Freshman guard K.K. Houser scored a career-high 18 points, and the host Boilermakers (10-10, 5-4 Big Ten) handed the Buckeyes (20-2, 8-1) their first conference loss.

No. 12 North Carolina 81, N.C. State 69: Italee Lucas scored 28 of her career-high 33 points in the second half to help the Tar Heels (16-3, 4-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) rally for the win against the host Wolfpack (12-8, 2-3).

KENTUCKY AT TOP

Kentucky is on top of The Associated Press' college basketball poll, and the Wildcats are a unanimous No. 1.

The only unbeaten team in Division I, Kentucky (19-0) received all the first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel yesterday, its first time at No. 1 since the final poll of 2002-03.

The Wildcats, No. 2 Kansas, Villanova, Syracuse and Michigan State all moved up one place from last week as Texas, which was No. 1 for two weeks, dropped to sixth after losing to Kansas State and Connecticut.

Georgetown, Duke, West Virginia and Purdue rounded out the top 10.

North Carolina (12-7), the defending national champion and loser of three straight, did not receive a vote and dropped out of the poll for the first time since January 2006.

No. 2 Kansas 84, Missouri 65: Cole Aldrich had 12 points, 16 rebounds and blocked seven shots, helping the host Jayhawks (19-1, 5-0 Big 12) run over the Tigers (15-5, 3-2).

No. 4 Syracuse 73, No. 7 Georgetown 56: Kris Joseph and Andy Rautins had 15 points apiece and the host Orange (20-1, 7-1 Big East) rallied from an early 14-point deficit to get the win against the Hoyas (15-4, 6-3).

Boise State 77, Idaho 67, OT: Anthony Thomas scored 17 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation, and the Broncos (10-11, 1-7 Western Athletic Conference) rallied past the host Vandals (8-10, 1-6).
