Beau Yap, The Advertiser’s All-State co-Defensive Player of the Year, has verbally committed to football at Baylor in Waco, Texas.
Beau’s father, Boyd, said, “It is true. He verbally committed to Baylor. That’s all I can say right now.”
Beau Yap, a 6-foot-2, 235-pound defensive lineman, helped Kamehameha to a state football title this past season.
The other All-State co-Defensive Player of the Year, Hauoli Jamora, committed to Washington.
Three of Baylor coaches are former University of Hawaii players — Brian Norwood, Dino Barbers and Kim McCloud.
