Clinton to be here Tuesday on way to N.Z., Australia

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make a stop in Honolulu next week before heading to Australia and other nations for talks on global and regional security issues, the Associated Press reported.
The State Department yesterday said Clinton will be in Hawai'i Tuesday to speak on Asia-Pacific relations and consult with U.S military commanders in the Pacific.
Her next stop will be Papua-New Guinea next Thursday before heading on to New Zealand Jan. 15, where she will meet with senior officials, including Prime Minister John Key.
In Australia, Clinton and Defense Secretary Robert Gates will take part in a ministerial conference with Australian officials on global and regional security issues.
Joining the two U.S. officials at these talks Jan. 17 will be Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith and Australian Defense Minister John Falkner.
