Hilo airport re-opened; road to Kahului open
Hilo International Airport was re-opened after the tsunami warning was canceled as was a road into the Kahului Airport on Maui, state Civil Defense said.
The Hilo airport had been closed due to the tsunami warning. Anyone with flights booked to Hilo were advised to contact their airline.
Other state airports remained open and flight operations were not affected, Civil Defense said.
Hawaiian Airlines said its passengers booked on flights to Hilo were being offered the option to fly to Kona on a space available basis, or to change their date of travel at no cost.
