PATTAYA, Thailand — Hawai'i's Michelle Wie fired a fina-round 3-under-par 69 today and finished in a tie for 22nd place in the season-opening Honda PTT LPGA Thailand.

Wie, a Punahou alum and current Stanford student, finished with a 72-hole total of 3-under 283 at the Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course.

Japan's Ai Miyazato was 8-under through 17 holes to move into a tie for the lead with Norway's Suzann Pettersen, who was 2-under through 15 holes when this edition went to press.

Pettersen started today's final round with a five-stroke lead over Korea's Song-Hee Kim.

Miyazato, who started the round six shots behind and playing two groups ahead of Pettersen, bogeyed the second hole, but rallied with three birdies and an eagle to turn at 4-under 32.

She then birdied the 10th, 11th, 13th and 15th holes to join Pettersen at the top of the leaderboard.

Taiwan's Yani Tseng, six strokes back when the round started, was 5-under through 16 holes and was three behind at 17 under.

Wie started today's round with birdies at the first and third holes and made the turn at 2-under 34. She managed just one birdie in a back-nine 35.

FUJIKAWA TIES FOR 32ND

Hawai'i's Tadd Fujikawa shot a final-round 3-over 75 and finished tied for 32nd place in the eGolf Professional Tour's season-opening Palmetto Hall Championships at Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The Moanalua High alum earned $1,976.

Russell Knox of Florida shot a final-round 70 for a 280 total and three-stroke victory over Matt Cannon of North Carolina. who shot 68—283.

Knox collected $34.306 from the total purse of $231,014. Cannon shot 68—283 and earned $16,090.
