Body of Big Island surfer recovered

Hawaii County fire rescue personnel recovered the body of a surfer yesterday at Anaehoomalu Bay, according to a county news release.
Authorities have not yet released the man's identity.
Firefighters were dispatched at 9:45 a.m. Witnesses told them the man disappeared after he fell while riding a large wave. Fragments of the man's stand-up paddleboard were recovered.
A fire helicopter spotted the man's body about 100 yards off shore and a rescue swimmer entered the water and recovered it.
