Auto racing: Tebow tours Daytona, dodges commercial questions

Associated Press

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is getting another tour of Daytona International Speedway.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner is talking to drivers, checking out cars and turning a few laps around NASCAR's famed track. He also is signing autographs and posing for pictures. It's all part of his role as grand marshal for the Daytona 500 qualifying races Thursday.

The races are sponsored by Gatorade, and Tebow recently signed with the sports drink giant.

Tebow declined to talk about his Super Bowl commercial, the one paid for by the Christian group Focus on the Family. He also didn't want to address any football questions. He did, though, joke that he is hoping to get less criticism about his "Gentlemen, Start Your Engines" line than his football delivery.
