Super Bowl: Freeney starts for Colts despite ankle injury
Associated Press
MIAMI — Indianapolis Colts star Dwight Freeney started Sunday's Super Bowl at his normal position after missing two straight weeks of practice with an injured right ankle.
Freeney had been listed as questionable. But he worked out on the field less than two hours before kickoff at Sun Life Stadium and was active.
Freeney did some running and even tried a spin move on his sprained right ankle. He didn't appear to be limping, waving to the crowd as he headed back to the locker room Sunday.
