WCC TO SPONSOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SEMINAR PANEL

Domestic violence is an issue that affects everyone: perpetrator, victim and witness. Windward Community College's Hawaiian Club is sponsoring an educational seminar "Aloha ke kahi e ke kahi" (Love One Another), starting at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, in Hale Akoakoa 105. The Wahiawā community will celebrate May Day Saturday at the Wahiawa Town Center with an afternoon of free entertainment.

ALIKA RABBIT GARDEN OPENING IN PEARL CITY

University of Hawai'i-Mānoa's College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources and a team of staff and volunteers at the Urban Garden Center in Pearl City will host the grand opening of the Alika Rabbit Garden May 8, from 9 a.m. to noon.

GHOST NET RETRIEVED DURING FOUNDATION’S WHALE WATCH

Passengers on Pacific Whale Foundation's whale watch boat got a close look at the wildlife that was entangled in a large "ghost net" when they assisted foundation naturalists in pulling the net from the water.

The net was found around 9:45 a.m. April 10 off Kaho'olawe. Marine debris is believed to be the No. 1 killer of marine mammals. For more information, visit www.pacificwhale.org.
