FUNNY, IN SPADES
Actor, comedian and "Saturday Night Live" alum David Spade will be performing at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
Best known for his lippy, sarcastic wit, Spade made a name for himself as part of the "Saturday Night Live" cast in the early '90s — his celeb-bashing segment on "SNL," "Spade in America" kept us in stitches — before leaving the show to pursue acting. Spade has starred in "Joe Dirt," "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" and, with fellow SNL cast member Chris Farley, in "Tommy Boy" and "Black Sheep."
As a television star, Spade was the impishly hilarious Dennis Finch on "Just Shoot Me!" (for which he received one Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations) and is currently in the CBS sitcom "Rules of Engagement."
