Even though she has cast a small navy of pirates for the three previous "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, Sande Alessi is still searching for her Holy Grail of extras: albinos.

The Hollywood casting agent is hoping she'll find one in Honolulu at this Saturday's casting call for extras for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." And if not, she's confident she can find enough extras with bulging eyes, bulbous noses and the gaunt appearance of a lettuce-eating scavenger.

"I need so many different-looking pirates," said Alessi, who had just looked at a photo of an extra with only three teeth. "Like someone who has a missing eye or a white cornea, that blind look. I love that. Anyone who looks like they are from the ride at Disneyland. I would really love an albino."

The fourth installment of "Pirates," which again will star Johnny Depp, is looking for men, 18 to 60, all ethnicities, to play pirates and sailors. The filmmakers need enough to crew two or three ships, Alessi said.

"We have a lot of jobs and I really want to drag people out of their homes that never come to an open call," she said. "That's who I need, especially the crazy-looking ones."

For those chosen, Alessi is promising a lot of work on O'ahu and possibly on Kaua'i. Costume fittings would begin in May and the cameras would roll between the second week of June and the middle of August.

But first, everyone will get a bit of Swashbuckling 101.

"The pirates have to go to pirate school where they learn to use a sword and shoot a cannon and climb the mast and do the rigging," she said. No experience is necessary.

"You are a pirate at heart or you are not," she said.
