Tickets are selling fast for Chic in the City, a ladies' night out to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Hawai'i. Gather your girlfriends and get those tickets before they sell out. It takes place at 7 p.m. May 28 in the Dole Ballrooms and Theatres.
The evening will include cocktails, heavy pūpū, fashion vendors, giveaways and a silent auction. Kāne'ohe-based fashion and jewelry designer Sierra Dew is coordinating a fabulous fashion show, "Cirque du Culture," featuring innovative local designers including Doug Jago, Jodi Salmonson and Suzanna Kuhlemann.
The evening will be highlighted by a screening of the movie "Sex & the City 2." Presale tickets are $65. Go to www.dreamonhi.com to purchase tickets.
A CELEBRATION OF FABRIC
It's time for Temari's fifth annual fabric fix, Bolts of Fabric & Fun, the organization's gathering for people who love textiles, beading, needlework, quilting, dyeing and weaving. There will be talk-story sessions as well as some vendors who only bring out their treasures once a year. Vintage kimono, hand-dyed textiles, haori, hand-printed tote bags and yukata patchwork are just a few of the finds.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at Honpa Hongwanji Social Hall on Pali Highway. Free and open to the public.
BIDDING ON BAGS
The Junior League of Honolulu presents Sacs in the City, a silent auction of designer handbags, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 24 in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Ballroom. Prada, Marc Jacobs and Cole Haan are just a few of the designer handbags in the auction.
In addition, Neiman Marcus will present a runway show of spring trends by designers such as Jil Sander, Giorgio Armani, Marni and Tory Burch.
