The city medical examiner has identified Misty Murphy, 34, of Kailua as the woman who died Saturday after her motorcycle crashed into a parked pickup truck on Wanaao Road in the Enchanted Lake area of Kailua.

Police believe Murphy was speeding when her motorcycle slammed into the parked truck near the intersection of Wanaao and Paopua Loop.

Residents who live along the stretch of Wanaao Road where the crash occurred said speeding has become a constant problem since the city recently repaved the road.

Friends said Murphy purchased a Harley-Davidson Sportster in 2008 and loved to ride, often accompanying other riders on trips to the Neighbor Islands and around Oahu.

They said she grew up in Channelview, Texas, and moved to Hawaii eight years ago.
