U.S. Sen. Inouye joins young scientists at State Science and Engineering Fair

Hundreds of private and public school young inventors will showcase their talents this week at the 53rd Hawai'i State Science and Engineering Fair.

The annual fair begins today with students setting up their prized projects in the Kamehameha Ballrooms at the Hawaii Convention Center. .

U.S. Sen. Dan Inouye will attend the official opening day ceremonies at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Sen. Inouye, Dr. "Izzy" Abbott and Maui High School and MIT graduate Dr. Dee Symonds will share their inspirational stories with students.

Public viewing of the exhibits will be Wednesday.
