HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Two Marshall University football players have been suspended following their arrests on misdemeanor charges.
Marshall athletics spokesman Randy Burnside said Monday that the suspensions of defensive backs DeQuan Bembry and T.J. Drakeford are indefinite.
According to the criminal complaints, Huntington police arrested Bembry and Drakeford early Sunday morning while clearing several bars because of fights.
Bembry was charged with assault on a police officer and underage consumption. Drakeford was charged with battery of a police officer and obstruction.
Both players are free on bond. Court documents show each player requested a court-appointed attorney.
