HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i Women’s Political Caucus has announced the election results of its officers. The Board of Directors, who serve a two-year term, were elected in July.

Officers elected were: Faye Kennedy, president; Allicyn Hikida Tasaka, vice president; Nanci Kreidman, vice president; Carolyn Wilcox, treasurer; and Pua Auyong-White, secretary. Directors elected to the 10-member board were Amy Agbayani, Diane Chang, Gladys Gerlich-Hayes, Joy Kobashigawa-Lewis and Alice Tucker.

Honorees at the annual membership meeting and reception were Councilwoman Ann Kobayashi, Sen. Michelle Kidani as outstanding freshman legislator, attorney Jo-Ann Adams for her leadership as a civil rights activist, and Debbie Shimizu for her social work advocacy. The reception drew elected officials, community leaders and activists.

The Hawai‘i Women’s Political Caucus was established in 1981 and is a multipartisan organization committed to increasing women’s participation in the political process and increasing their representation in elected and appointed office. Hawai‘i Women’s Political Caucus also supports male candidates committed to its goals. The group is dedicated to equality in employment, stopping all violence against women and improving the health and well-being of women and families.

The Hawai‘i Women’s Political Caucus is a state chapter of the National Women’s Political Caucus.
