A 20-year-old Mililani man was charged yesterday with kidnapping and sexual assault in connection with two separate attacks on 15-year-old girls Wednesday morning in Mililani.
One victim reported being forced into a van and sexually assaulted over a 6 1/2-hour period.
Nicholas D. Anduha was arrested late Thursday night at the main police station on South Beretania Street.
He was charged yesterday with seven counts of first-degree sexual assault, one count of third-degree sexual assault, two counts of kidnapping, and two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening.
Anduha's bail was set at $500,000 and he is scheduled to make his initial appearance in District Court on Monday.
Anduha is suspected of being involved in separate incidents Wednesday in Mililani in which 15-year-old girls told police they were abducted by a male in his late teens or early 20s.
In one incident, the girl said she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted over a 6 1/2-hour period.
She said she was walking on Huo Place to a friend's house when a man grabbed her and forced her into a white van shortly before 7 a.m.
The man ordered her to lie on the van's floor as he drove around the Wahiawa area, according to a police affidavit. He stopped at a park in Wahiawa, where he sexually assaulted her, the affidavit said.
The attacker then drove to Waimea Bay Beach Park, where he again sexually assaulted her, the affidavit said. At about 1:30 p.m., he drove her back to the Mililani area and let her go.
On Thursday, police located what they say is that van at Anduha's mother's home in Mililani.
Later that day, Anduha was found at a Wahiawa address and was taken to the police station, where he was arrested.
In the other case, a 15-year-old girl said she was walking with her boyfriend at about 3:30 a.m. in Mililani when they were confronted by a male with a knife.
Police said the assailant ordered the boyfriend to leave.
The man then placed his arm on the girl's shoulder and held the knife to her stomach, police said.
He told her he was taking her to his vehicle, but as they were walking the girl's boyfriend confronted the man, police said.
The man then pushed the girl to the ground and fled.
No information was given on what schools the girls attend.
On Thursday, Mililani High sent an automated voice-mail advisory to parents as a precaution.
