UH to play on ESPN's late show

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team again has been selected to host a late-night game as part of ESPN's College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Nov. 16.

The Rainbow Warriors will host Northern Colorado in a game that will start at 11 p.m. in the Stan Sheriff Center. The odd start time accommodates ESPN's schedule of 24 consecutive hours of live basketball coverage.

It is the second consecutive year that Hawai'i was selected for an 11 p.m. game. Last season, the 'Bows beat Idaho State in an ESPN game that finished at 1:30 a.m.

The game against Northern Colorado also will be part of the season-opening Rainbow Classic. The 'Bows will host Southern Utah on Nov. 13, and McNeese State on Nov. 15 before the ESPN game.

It is one of two guaranteed national television appearances this season for Hawai'i. The 'Bows' game against College of Charleston in the Diamond Head Classic will be televised on ESPNU.
