A 32-year-old Makiki man was arrested Tuesday in connection with an incident on Friday in which a woman reported that one of her fingers was bitten off.

The woman, 37, told police she was involved in a domestic argument with the man at their home on Lunalilo Street. It escalated into a physical altercation, during which the man bit off her finger, the woman reported.

The man left the apartment before police arrived, but turned himself in Tuesday at the main police station on Beretania Street. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault.
