It's beginning to look a lot like ... Christmas? Well, maybe not — but it is time for our craft-fair list.
The Island Life section's annual holiday craft-fair calendar will be published Oct. 11. If you are sponsoring a fair, send us the details: fair name, time, date, location and types of merchandise to be offered. Be sure to include a phone number that we can print with your listing. The submission deadline is Sept. 28.

TAKE A BREAK
MIDDAY NAP HAS ITS BENEFITS
Nap time is not just for the very young or very old. According to a Pew Research Center national survey, on a typical day, one in three adults in the United States takes advantage of some midday shut-eye.
The National Sleep Foundation says a midday snooze has benefits — whether it's an all-out, curl-up-in-bed siesta or just a light nodding-off at lunchtime or a quick doze on the bus — a nap can restore alertness, enhance performance and reduce the likelihood of mistakes and accidents.
No time to nap? Fortunately, the best naps are short — about 20 to 30 minutes. Any longer might leave you feeling groggy and could interfere with your nighttime routine.
