Warriors' Alexander, Paredes named WAC players of the week

University of Hawaii quarterback Greg Alexander and linebacker Corey Paredes today were named Western Athletic Conference offensive and defensive player of the week.
Alexander passed for a career-high 453 yards in a 38-20 victory over Washington State Saturday. He also threw for three touchdowns, helping UH amass 626 yards of total offense against a Pac-10 Conference opponent.
It was UH's first road win in seven tries over a Bowl Championship Series team.
Paredes had eight tackles and forced two fumbles as the Warriors recorded seven turnovers.
UH (2-0) plays at UNLV Saturday.
