Firefighters battling Waianae wildfire
The Honolulu Fire Department is responding to a wildfire in Waianae near Ala Hema and Ala Akau streets.
The fire was reported at 12:50 p.m. and there is no estimate on the size of the area burned.
No property is immediately threatened by the fire but there are structures in the area, said HFD Fire Captain Terry Seelig.
HFD has six engines and five tankers, one brush truck, one helicopter, one aircraft tender and about 40 firefighters on scene.
