CFB: Heisman winner Bradford's return uncertain

Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY — A day after Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford was knocked out of Oklahoma's season opener with a shoulder injury, Oklahoma's coaching staff is still awaiting word on when the quarterback will be able to play again.

Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson says the Sooners' medical staff is gathering information to determine what treatment options are available, and how long Bradford would be out.

He says a similar process is ongoing for second-team All-America tight end Jermaine Gresham, who has cartilage damage in his right knee.

Bradford was hurt just before halftime in Oklahoma's 14-13 loss to BYU on Saturday.

Redshirt freshman Landry Jones replaced him and led the Sooners to a single field goal on five second-half drives.
