A woman who was found dead late Sunday night in Waianae has been identified as Nicole Barrett of Waianae.

Police said Barrett, 26, was discovered unresponsive by a friend at about 10:15 p.m. in a vacant building in Waianae with what appeared to be a shotgun wound to her chest, police said.
Barrett was pronounced dead a short while later.
The case has been classified as an unattended death pending the outcome of an autopsy. The city medical examiner’s office yesterday did not release the cause or manner of Barrett’s death.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of suicide.
