Nevada sends Warriors to sixth loss in a row, 31-21

Colin Kaepernick ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more scores to lead Nevada to a 31-21 victory over Hawai‘i in Western Athletic Conference football at Reno, Nev., sending the Warriors to their six consecutive defeat today.

Nevada is 5-4 overall and leads the WAC at 4-0. The Warriors are 2-6 overall and 0-5 in the WAC.
Kaepernick was 12 of 21 for 184 yards with touchdown passes of 30 yards to Vai Taua and 40 yards to Tray Session. He had 12 carries for 114 yards and TD runs of 2 and 38 yards.
UH's Bryant Moniz completed 29 of 49 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns and two interceptions. Jovonte Taylor had six catches for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Green had 10 rushes for 70 yards.

• The Warriors drove to the UN 13, but Bryant Moniz was intercepted by Doyle Miller in the end zone with 5:15 remaining in the third quarter.
• UH kicker Scott Enos missed on a 42-yard field goal attempt with 29 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
• UH defense forced Nevada to punt twice and turn over the ball on downs once in the second half.
• Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick had seven carries for 75 yards with touchdown runs of 2 and 38 yards in the first half to give the Wolf Pack a 21-14 lead. He completed 6 of 9 passes for 108 yards and a 30-yard TD pass to Vai Taua.
• UH quarterback Bryant Moniz was 15 of 26 for 234 yards with TD passes of 18 yards to Kealoha Pilares and 71 yards to Jovonte Taylor in the first half. Taylor had four receptions for 93 yards. Leon Wright-Jackson had six carries for 33 yards.
• Moniz, who suffered a concussion last week against Boise State, started at quarterback.
