HOLYOKE, Mass. — The beach and indoor volleyball people will try to find a way to get along without going their separate ways.
At a board meeting for USA Volleyball on Friday, the sport’s national governing body agreed to look into a subcommittee that would be run by and for people from the beach side of the sport.
The agreement could mean an end to bickering between the disciplines that has been going on for several years.
Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh and Todd Rogers flew cross-country to make the case for the sand side of the sport. Their agent said they were prepared to resign from USA Volleyball if there hadn’t been any progress.
