UH basketball gets another ESPN game

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawaii men's basketball team will have one more of its games televised on the ESPN network of stations, thanks to a schedule shift in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.

All of the first- and second-round games of the inaugural Diamond Head Classic will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Hawaii's second-round game was not originally guaranteed to be televised.

The Rainbow Warriors will play College of Charleston in the first round on Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. That game will be televised on ESPNU.

Hawaii will play either SMU or UNLV in the second round on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

If Hawaii makes it to the championship or third-place game on the final day of the tournament, that will also be televised on ESPN2.

The Diamond Head Classic is scheduled for Dec. 22, 23 and 25 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Four games will be played each day, and 10 of the 12 total games will be televised on the ESPN network of stations.

Hawaii will have at least two other nationally televised games this season: Nov. 16 vs. Northern Colorado on ESPN, and Jan. 30 at Nevada on ESPNU.
