Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Franklin “Don” Pacarro has announced that he will run for city prosecutor in 2012.

Prosecutor Peter Carlisle previously announced he will run for mayor, either in 2010 or 2012.
Pacarro is the first person to announce his candidacy for the office since Carlisle went public with his intentions.
Pacarro, 52, has been a prosecutor 23 years, according a press release issued by his campaign committee. As director of the Felony Trials Division in his office, he supervises 27 attorneys.
