NFL: Helmet contact costs Titans' DT Brown $10K NFL fine
Associated Press
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee defensive tackle Tony Brown did not want to open a note from the NFL. He had good reason. The league has fined him $10,000 for two hits last week.
The NFL fined Brown for two separate hits on Jaguars quarterback David Garrard, one in which he made helmet-to-helmet contact and in another when Brown unnecessarily slammed Garrard to the ground.
The Titans lost 37-17 at Jacksonville. The NFL confirmed the fine Friday.
