"Banzai" Betty Depolito is a surfing icon based on the North Shore of O'ahu. With a nickname like "Banzai," she's obviously surfed the North Shore's famous Pipeline and Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach back in the late '70s and early '80s, and she's still out there today — half-time surfing, half-time snapping video. Betty joined top male big-wave riders of the Eddie Aikau lineup in honor of her prowess at Waimea. She is one of the few women even today said to have caught 18- to 20-foot waves. www.PacificNetwork.tv presents some video shot by Betty that highlights other female surfers. Enjoy!
