The brush fire in Olinda, Maui on Friday was caused by a fallen power line, firefighters have said.

The 12:27 p.m. Friday fire was caused when a large tree limb fell onto a power line. The power line snapped and ignited the grass along the access road.
Firefighters said that strong, swirling winds pushed the fire through the forested area and was fueled by a thick layer of pine needles and dead plant material covering the forest floor.
The fire burned an estimated 6 acres in a forested area across from the Olinda Bird Sanctuary. No homes were in danger and no injuries reported. The fire was put out by 7:30 p.m.
