STILL RISING

Two decades ago, De La Soul showed us the future of hip-hop. Today, the trio's debut album, "3 Feet High and Rising" remains one of the most influential hip-hop records of all time.

In celebration of that album's 20th anniversary, De La Soul has reworked the album's tracks for its "20 Years High and Rising" concert, a show that is more than a throwback, it's a tribute to the relevance of the music.

De La Soul will make a stop on its anniversary tour at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Waterfront at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Touring with them is the iconic Biz Markie, best known for his hit song "Just a Friend."

Local hip-hop artists Tassho Pearce and the DJs of the Nocturnal Sound Krew will be representing the Islands.

De La Soul with Biz Markie / The Waterfront at Aloha Tower / 8 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine / $35 in advance, $40 at the door, $55 VIP / buy tickets online at http://www.honoluluboxoffice.com
