UNC's victory gives Williams his 600th

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Roy Williams' milestone victories are starting to blend together for No. 11 North Carolina.
The Tar Heels gave their Hall of Fame coach his 600th career win last night, an 80-73 triumph over Nevada behind a career-high 23 points from Deon Thompson.
Ed Davis added 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Tar Heels (6-1).
Armon Johnson scored 20 points and Luke Babbitt added 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Nevada (2-3).
Williams is the 33rd coach in Division I history to reach 600 wins. Williams, who spent 15 years at Kansas before taking over his alma mater in 2003, is 600-139 in his 22nd season and became the eighth active coach to hit that milestone.
"I don't think you'll ever hear Roy Williams say, 'I won 500 or I won 600,' " Williams said. "I'd say, 'We won this, and we won that,' and that's really what I believe."

Hawai'i Pacific 97, Western New Mexico 77: Mike Helton scored 19 points, and Norman Wells added 12 points and 13 rebounds as host HPU (2-2) beat Western New Mexico (1-2), which got 17 points each from Stefan Mirabal and Justin Williams.

No. 1 Connecticut 87, Clemson 48: Kalana Greene scored a career-high 28 points, Tina Charles added 20 points and nine rebounds and Maya Moore had 19 points for host UConn (6-0), which extended its winning streak to 45 games by winning the WBCA Classic. Lele Hardy had 17 points for Clemson (4-3).
No. 2 Stanford 105, Gonzaga 74: Kayla Pedersen scored a career-high 30 points, and Nnemkadi Ogwumike added a career-high 29 points and matched her career best with 13 rebounds to lead host Stanford (6-0). Janelle Bekkering scored 16 points for Gonzaga (4-2).
No. 3 Ohio State 83, No. 22 California 71: Jantel Lavender had 33 points and 14 rebounds, and Samantha Prahalis added 14 points and 14 assists to propel host Ohio State (8-0). Alexis Gray-Lawson led Cal (3-2) with 25 points.
No. 4 North Carolina 76, Charleston Southern 67: Tierra Ruffin-Pratt scored 16 points and Laura Broomfield added 14 points and 11 rebounds for host North Carolina (5-0). Kelsey Wasmer scored 19 points to lead Charleston Southern (3-3).
